Disney Day During Quarantine
When all traveling is put on hold … the Smiths' plan a staycation to Disney!
When stuck inside with not much to do - why not make all your Disney dreams come true!
Honest moment: This Disney day was 99% for me. I told the boys one or two times that day: “Don’t ruin Mommy’s Disney Day!” Quarantine trapped my creativity and I desperately needed an outlet! The Disney Sing-Along that aired on ABC sparked my idea of a Disney day! In true obsessive fashion, it took me about 2 days to complete all the decorations. (I shamelessly hoard poster board, construction paper and all things party decorations related.)
We started the day off with Mickey Waffles! The waffle maker we used was from my childhood and super temperamental - but found this Mickey Waffle Iron on amazon that should do the trick! with “Berry Godmother wands” and Beast’s Bacon Roses! Check out the link for the recipe from Our Best Bites!
Next we “rode” virtual rides! We just did our big Disney trip this fall so it was fun reminiscing the rides - the hampers were a tad uncomfortable but we were committed to the magic! We watched the Top 10 Disney World Rides and skipped through to find our favorites!
We had a blast playing Disney themed games - Braedon was our Sorry Champion! I LOVED watching my nieces stop by all dressed up as Disney Princesses for our parade -by far the best part of my day! And needless to say I won the Disney lip sync battle - but Nate did a stupendous rendition of “I Just Can’t Wait to be King'“ on the hamper drums! To conclude our evening - we ended the night watching the Disney Castle Light Show!
And just as every magical moment must come to an end - the clock struck 12 and I went back to #momlife and the never ending battle with laundry continues.
DISNEY DAY DOESN’T HAVE TO BE JUST DURING QUARANTINE
After I posted our Disney Day, I had a friend reach out that she wanted to do this for her daughter’s birthday! Disney Day is a great birthday party theme and/or rainy day activity! The decorations don’t have to be as elaborate to make the day magical, but I hope some of my decor inspires you, as well as our activities and menu!
