Celebrating with those you are closest with

at a distance!

My sister is due with baby number two and we wanted to sprinkle her with lots of love …. at a distance. We brainstormed lots of different ways we could accomplish this in the safest way possible with preserving the ‘celebration’ aspect! Here are some of the things we did that you might find helpful when planning yours! Bonus: some great decor ideas for ‘A Little Cutie’ theme!

Social Distancing Baby Shower Options and Tips:

  • Drive-thru parade: Have your guests drive by and show their love and support as a group

    • Tip: Give the guests a meeting location and time before the ‘parade ’begins

  • Curbside: Have you guests drive by with minimal contact

    • Tip: Create a window of time for a curbside shower so guests don’t all arrive at once.

    • Tip: Be sure to communicate with guests what the Mommy-to-be is comfortable with. For example: Are the guests expected to get out of their car? Are masks required? Can they sneak in a hug?

    • Tip: If your Mommy-To-Be is comfortable with pictures but still wants to keep some distance -we used a sign to fill in the space to make it more photo friendly.

  • Zoom: Have your guests sign into a zoom meeting

    • Tip: Send out the zoom information well in advance

    • Tip: Set up your computer to a tv screen or bigger monitor for the ‘Zoom Party’ so the Mommy-to-Be can see her guests clearly. You might want to consider putting the guests on mute so everyone can hear!

What did we do?

We hosted a curbside party with a half hour window for guests to come drop off their gifts, get a picture with the Mommy-to-be and grab a delicious snack to enjoy during the ‘Zoom Party’ to follow.

We ordered the cardboard cup traveler cases off amazon and stuffed them with fresh squeezed OJ, champaign for those who wanted to make a mimosa, a muffin, a clementine and a tucked in a game for them to fill out and play during the Zoom!

During the Zoom party we played a game and the Mommy-To-Be opened her gifts!
